All faculty members in the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences are engaged in research. Many have several different projects, some of which involve graduate student dissertation and research programs. Most projects are funded with outside research grants. For public information purposes, these projects are grouped into three broad categories reflecting departmental program interests. Descriptions of these areas and their research projects are provided to the "Current Research Information System" (CRIS). This is a national research information exchange organized and run by the US Dept. of Agriculture.

What is CRIS?

The CRIS website provides a good description: "The Current Research Information System (CRIS) is the U.S. Department of Agriculture's documentation and reporting system for ongoing agricultural, food and nutrition, and forestry research. CRIS contains over 30,000 descriptions of current, publicly-supported research projects of the USDA agencies, the State Agricultural Experiment Stations, the State land-grant colleges and universities, State schools of forestry, cooperating schools of veterinary medicine, and USDA grant recipients."

CRIS reports are available through the CRIS website (http://cris.csrees.usda.gov/star/system.html).

Faculty and Staff Research Projects and Publications

These CRIS reports are broad categories representing departmental research programs and will not necessarily provide you with detail on specific research projects. More specific information on faculty, staff and graduate student projects and interests can be found on individual faculty and staff pages (go to faculty page) and in the abstracts from the annual graduate student symposium (go to home page).

Faculty and some staff pages include a selective list of publications and links to PDF files which can be viewed or downloaded. A link to that person's resumé or CV which includes all publications is also provided.
