Bronze Level - Minimum Security

Record Keeping

Protocols developed for handling source water and equipment monitoring

All incoming animals have arrival dates, total number of animals received, mortality rates, disease treatments, and stocking locations recorded

All incoming feed will have arrival dates, quantity purchased, feed type, and expiration dates recorded

Farm Intervention Points

Water quality will be randomly monitored and recorded for ponds, systems, and holding vessels

Treat incoming water source accordingly (e.g., municipal water must be dechlorinated; non- protected water must be disinfected)

Feed source is known and handled accordingly (e.g., maintain clean invertebrate cultures, inspect bags/containers for breaks and feed for malodor/insects/fungi)

Incoming fish are isolated to reduce pathogens and incoming fish transport water disposed of

Footbaths and washing stations available

No pets allowed on property

Limit access of off-farm vehicles on-farm and have designated areas for equipment

Minimize movement of fish and equipment between separate populations

Older broodstock phased out; keep same age-classes together

MSDS chemical inventory with expiration dates and chemical storage protocols

Applicants are provided a binder for MSDS sheets and can receive assistance with obtaining material safety data sheets (MSDS) for chemicals

Trees next to ponds removed and weeds managed around and in ponds
